Different limiting logic for lightmap texture counts and sizes

It would be quite useful to be able to set a hard limit for texture counts and have RTTGroup automatically unwrap optimally to such available area.

Currently, artists would have to tweak the global grid size and unwrap via the unwrap button multiple times to reach the available predetermined lightmap budget for the part of the scene they are working on.

Can you estimate how hard / how long would it take to add such a feature?

I added this feature - now Unwrap rollout contains Find Grid Size group with button Find.

Hmm, have you tested this feature with more complex scenes. I'm trying one of our low-poly test levels and getting value of 0.001 for grid size?

Meanwhile I've reverted to usual trial and error manual setting of the grid size..
